SimER Human Activities

The Human Activities component enables the user to specify the way in which humans inhabit, use and interact with the system under consideration.

In particular, it enables the user to specify the receptors that are assumed to be exposed to contaminated materials within the system, and it enables the potential uses of the landscape to be defined. For example, the occupancy of different landscape features, and the way in which specific features are used by humans, can be assigned. The user can also add related information, such as the yield of crops for particular features, or the stocking density.

The component also provides the facilities to define the consequences of events associated with human activities. For example, the user can specify the amount of soil excavated and transferred to a different location in the system when a road is built.
