SimER Engineering

The Engineering component is concerned with the 'engineered' parts of the system consisting of the 'man made' region that provides the source of the contaminants under consideration. The figure below shows two such areas: a near-surface disposal facility and an area of contaminated land. A disposal facility could include a number of engineered features such as walls, vaults and caps. An area of contaminated land could include man made features such as drains that are relevant to the distribution of contaminants.
