Nick Barber
is a contaminated land specialist with 17 years of contracting and
consulting experience within the contaminated land sector including
the undertaking of desk based studies, ground investigations,
quantitative risk assessment models and remediation design &
implementation.
Nick has undertaken detailed chemotoxic reviews for
non-radiological contaminants including identifying appropriate
remedial solutions for the Springfields site, as well as deriving
soil screening values for chemical contamination to be used for
human health risk assessments for Sellafield. In addition, he has
been involved in a number of studies to determine radiological
impacts to the ecosystem from waste disposals as well as
technically managing the chemical and geological assessments of the
Low Level Waste Repository at Drigg, Cumbria.
Nick has a first degree in Geological Sciences and has held
Chartered status through full membership of CIWEM for over seven
years. In addition, he is a Chartered Scientist, a Chartered
Environmentalist, a Chartered Water & Environmental Manager, a
Member of the Institute of Environmental Sciences and a fellow of
the Geological Society.
